Superman was the First Deep Fake
Super/Man:The Christopher Reeve Story/Lord of the Rings AR click bait/ SnapGeoFilter
!!! When I published this, the links were lost! This version should have them.
Unless I am on a plane, I rarely watch movies. But, my mom wanted to go see Super/Man, the documentary about Christopher Reeve. The most ironic story in history, and a solid documentary. You’ll cry. In one tragic moment Superman became the world’s most famous paralyzed person.
Super Man, Super Bowl. This commercial was cutting edge in 2000, and outraged some people. CBS News talks about the public reaction, and at the bottom of the article describes the CG aspects.

I am supposed to be a “location-based AR” artist/producer, yet it was only today that I learned about Snap’s GeoFilters. Research and a crash course soon! Update: They are discontinued? Seems like someone did a lot of work: https://snapchat-geofilters.fandom.com/wiki/All_states

/… explained that his Imaginarium production outfit is currently in production on a “narrative-driven story” that begins with 2D characters created using voice actors before they “come out into the AR [augmented reality] world.” He continued, “At that point they become ‘AI characters’ authored by artists and directors. They are in a world where you can have direct relationships with these CGI characters.”

Bubiko is about to embark on a global AR adventure, for which I needed music. My hope was to connect with an established musician who either could allow me to use an 8 second snippet from an existing piece of music, or could create a very, very simple, wordless composition. I emailed two likely candidates; no answer. A third was on tour, and I took that as a sign to look into AI.
Within 10 minutes, I had exactly what I wanted, and for free. https://suno.com I really wanted to connect with a musician who had some sort of social media following. I really wanted to work with a human.
Next time.

You are one of 24 people who are receiving this newsletter. Hopefully! It seems that beehiiv, the newsletter platform I am using is putting out updates almost weekly. That is a great thing; in the long run. In the short run, it means that there may be bugs that we are all unaware of unless you tell us.
So, if you have had issues receiving this, please let me know. When someone signs up, they are supposed to get a welcome email. If you did not, please check your spam filter or promotion tab. UPDATE: I published this, sent out the email version …when I got mine, the YouTube videos were gone, and they were missing here as well.
I have not yet sent out mass invites, as i want to make sure that the onboarding process is smooth. If you know someone who is interested in AR, please think about inviting them, but warn them that there may be a complication at first. thanks
How often will I write? I don’t know.
I only want to write when I have something worth sharing.
For now, maith is free. My hope is that I can find sponsors or advertisers.
For that I need to grow the community past 26.
Thanks for reading!
